Blog Post - June 14th, 2011

What a relief it has been the last few days with very little heat and humidity. I love it. It makes for fantastic days to go out and enjoy the outdoor activities. Physical activity is a critical component of energy balance, the term researchers use to describe how weight, diet, and physical activity influence health. Strong evidence shows that physical activity is associated with reduced risk of cancers of the colon and breast. Several studies have also reported links between physical activity and reduced risk of cancers in the endometrial layer(lining of the uterus), lung, and prostate. Make sure you get out there for 30 minutes a day and do some type of physical activity such as walking, running, riding a bike, or even a stroll. You're health will thank you.

We have a wonderful event on June 21 for all of our moms, grandmothers, daughters, aunts, sisters, husbands, ...ok, it's for everyone. Cafe Diem is hosting a talk at 6:30 pm on How to Balance Your Hormones Naturally. How is this event for men? Well, hormones affect everyone whether they are our own hormones or those of someone we love. Let's face it women, men tend to notice our hormones faster than we do whether they will admit it or not. Seating is very limited so call today to reserve your spot. Refreshments will be provided.

We will also be participating in the Walk with Me fundraiser for Easter Seals on the 23rd of June. It starts at 6:30PM. If you would like more details about the event please call Joanna or Leigh Ann here at the office, or e-mail them at events@drmoss.net.
